I can't deny it's a fascinating subject, but the fact that Aokigahara is a real place with real victims makes it a less than sensitive choice for a horror movie. That said I'd probably still want to see it.

It doesn't make sense to me to suggest that this movie should be about the sensitive issue of suicide in Japan. It's like saying no, don't make another Thor movie, because it should be a literary exploration of Nordic folklore. They're two very different things, trying to compare which one is "better" is comparing apples and oranges.
