I think it's because in most fic, she's a pretty blatant self-insert.

I liked her in Thor, but thought she was rather mean and obnoxious in Thor The Dark World, although I did like her loyalty to Jane.

+1 to liking her in Thor, I found her quite amusing in contrast to Jane's super-seriousness all the time. Never read any fics with her, though.

She was tolerable in Thor, and in Thor 2 she was just obnoxious as fuck. I felt so bad for her intern.
