Well, if she can use her psychic powers to talk do something else other than talk to animals, that's not too bad. And if other psychics can use their powers to do the same, or at least it's been established that it's a skill that can be taught to people with that power set, then I don't see a problem. If it's none of the above, then yeah, she's a walking stereotype.

When it comes to representation, I feel like we get the short end of the stick. :C That's not to say that other marginalized communities have it better, but at the very least the aforementioned communities aren't presumed dead or vanishing. It seems like a lot of gross stereotypes about us tend to get a pass because creators think no one's around to criticize them for it.
