Yeah it's not that I find it strange that people like her, it's that I've seen her paired up with every character in the MCU and my mind does boggle a little at that. But I can't ship characters who don't interact even a little bit so that's probably why I don't get it.

Yeah Coulson was okay for me as a kind of 'man in black joke' but I didn't understand why everyone seemed to love him so much, and AoS turned that ambivalence into dislike(to the extent where both him and the writing made me stop watching).

(Hey Bruce is cool, I liked his re-introduction in Avengers and Mark Ruffalo does a good job with the screen-time he gets imo).

You two are my people! I really didn't get the collective fandom shitfit over Coulson being "killed" in Avengers. I was like...did I miss something? He was a funny minor running joke in Thor but other than that I didn't get the love. It just seemed like another way to make Tony actually step up and do something rather than being an actually sad death of a loved character. I thought I was in another universe to most fans! AoS made me feel like I was right all along: he's not main character material.

And I too extend my confusion to Darcy. She was tolerable in Thor but in Thor 2 a LOT of much more useful/impactful stuff got cut or left out whereas her obnoxious shit got left in - so I went from finding her tolerable to full on loathing her. Fandom's obsession with shipping her with everything with a pulse doesn't help.

When he died I was like 'oh right that makes sense' because he was basically the safest option to kill off yet give some kind of vague emotional impact for the characters, and then fandom seemed to loose it's shit over his death and I was left feeling like I'd missed something.

I feel you on AoS, he worked as a bit-part character because he was around for small, and usually funny, moments, but as a main character he was just way to boring for me to care about(and then I had him shoved in my face all the time, ugh).

In Thor she made some quippy jokes as per the norm and I really liked her relationship with Jane because it felt like a genuine friendship not just a 'she's my assistant' kind of thing, and in Thor 2... I still don't mind Darcy but she was upped as a quip-machine to the point of it detracting from her character and the random intern she was given was just... pointless?
