Now mind, I would never do it myself, but there's also a part of me that jumps for joy and downloads when someone posts a saved copy of a story that I didn't think to save.

Like one writer in a fandom I was once part of took down all her fics. I'm talking multiple, epic-lengths fics, because she was "going pro". She went pro all right.. and tanked. Recently people have started reposting the fics she took down, since she disappeared completely off the map.

The fics weren't great, but they were entertaining. I can only hope that someday my now multiple backups don't go out in a blaze of glory.

Why would people do that? Again, I may be a horrible person, but the writer who takes the fic down fires the first "shot" by not taking the consideration of fans into their decision. There is a thin line between love and hate, and when a writer disrespects their fans like that, I don't blame people for turning on them.

/a fanfic writer who will never, ever take any of her fic down, and is saying this with her oldest fic published online at 1996 still in existence.

OMG. I don't even know where to start with this post. It's downright mean. And gleeful about it. Dude. How exactly did this poor woman 'disrespect' her ~fans? Just by taking down old stuff she wrote once? Or was it because she dared to try something different? Sorry but that's a piss-poor excuse. And yeah if my ~fans~ were entitled, whiny brats like that I would drop off the map too. Jesus. O.o
