It's a play that JKR wrote the story for.

How you want to think about its canonicity is up to you, frankly.

Well, that changes things! Canon or not, theatre is a very different animal from film - frankly, I don't think the race of the actors should be considered at all unless the play is explicitly about race.

Ultimately it's this. Hopefully, the best actor gets cast. Race should be irrelevant. Especially if/when it goes on tour.
