Nah, that comment sounds bad even taking the sarcasm into account. Saying that people's primary motivation for racebending an originally white character is to get "diversity points"? Obnoxious and racist.

Suggesting 1) that the One True Way to create non-white characters is to do so from scratch and 2) that people interested in racebending characters aren't also interested in creating new non-white characters? Either hopelessly naive or deliberately strawmanning. And also racist.
