I think OP is saying usually the women in the series with male protagonists get relegated to Love Interest or are shown to be stupider or less skilled than the main male character so that the male character gets to look badass or be the center star. They believe that the same thing is happening these shows only with the genders reversed, making the male characters weaker or flatter in order to make the female ones be central and it's as unequal in the opposite way. OP appears to be saying that if doing that to women all the time in male centric shows is bad, it should be bad to do it to men in the female centric shows? as far as I can tell.

Ooooo. Well, if that is what they're saying, I agree to disagree with their interpretation.

I think that's what they're saying. I don't watch either show so I don't know how accurate a claim it is to be making but I believe that's the gist of the secret

Shows where the female character is always weaker and flatter turn off women, so they might be saying a show that does that to the male characters might turn off men

I haven't watched Agent Carter, but I have watched Jessica Jones. I'm going to be mentioning spoilers after this, so beware.

But Malcolm had a great character arc! One that took me by complete surprise. Yes he's just a squishy normal guy, but the stuff he does matters and he's MUCH more important than he seemed.

And Kilgrave, aside from being terrifying, was also so amazingly believable as what he became, multidimensional and well thought out. He made complete SENSE to me as a character the way a lot of the love interest female characters don't.

Simpson and Luke didn't get quite the same level of development, but there was obvious foreshadowing for more to come for both of them, and there were no instances of them doing things just because it seemed like the plot required them to do it. It all felt believable to me.
