Re: Can friendship-focused storylines be as compelling as romantic ones?

imo yes. Both can be done in a non-compelling way and both can be done in a way that's very engaging

Nice icon choice. The Scott and Stiles friendship was one of my favorite parts of seasons 3A and 3B of Teen Wolf; there were a lot of really great scenes between them. Incidentally, the romances were a bit flat during season 3. I actually do like the idea of Kira and Scott together, but I found their developing relationship to be a bit lacking in the third season (or at least much less interesting than other aspects of the season). The weird thing between Stiles and Malia was just flawed from the ground up though; so many things about it made me just plain uncomfortable (I haven't watched seasons 4 or 5 though, so idk if either romance got better)

Scott and Stiles were one of my favorite parts of Teen Wolf period! That relationship was one of the better written ones (along with several of the parental ones) and definitely kept me interested all throughout. (What I watched, anyway. I stopped about seven or eight episodes into season four. It was not enjoyable for me by then.)

Season three was wonderful for their friendship, though! So much happened, and they had some of the sweetest scenes in the entire show. (As well as...er, some rather brutal scenes, but I ate those up too!)

TBH I didn't care for the romance in S1, and though it grew on me in S2, in S3 it fell flat for me again. Kira and Scott should've been cute together but by that point Scott/Allison had grown on me and I was not feeling Allison/Isaac at all. Kira/Scott was cute, but I wasn't invested. Stiles/Malia was a nope for me as is Stiles/Lydia. I feel like TW is so-so on romance, but they're (usually) better with friendship.
