I wish my mother would stop actually asking what I want, because she forgets she asked and gets me something random half the time.

This year I asked for 2 movies and didn't get either of them.

I mean, she doesn't go too far off in the sense that most of the time I like what she gets (though this year half the clothes she got me didn't fit). But I hate getting all excited to be getting something and then it not being under the tree. She gets it right often enough that I expect it. The disappointment is frustrating, especially because I have to hide it because I don't want her to know I"m disappointed.

Sounds like making a physical list (on paper, if she's not into looking at Amazon wishlsits) would help.
