The Curious World of Calpurnia Tate. I read the first book and loved it, so I had to pick up the sequel and it didn't disappoint.

I may need to check that out.

Oh, man, the first book was great! I was vaguely aware there was going to be a sequel, but hadn't thought to look for it, so thanks for the reminder!

That's about how she becomes interested in being a vet, right? That plot interests me and I liked some parts of the first book, but it left me with a bad taste in my mouth because Calpurnia's attitude came off as, if you'll forgive the Tumblrism, special snowflakey ("I'm not like other girls who all LOVE housewife activities!") and steeped in unchecked privilege (a rich white girl who should consider herself lucky to ever have had the opportunity to get to learn what she did and be able to consider not needing to be stuck in the kitchen forever, but all she did was whine about how unfair it was that she might have to anyway)

So like. Does she address any of that and grow up at all?
