(Anonymous) 2015-12-29 05:05 am (UTC)(link)It's not like Luke Cage is getting shoved in a corner or left holding the idiot ball. Man is getting his own series next year, plus he got a pretty good B plot in Jessica Jones. Not as well developed as Trish, but on par with Hogarth.
Add Killgrave who is absolutely brilliant in all sorts of horrible ways and you have two great male characters.
The only weak link was Simpson (aka Nuke) who felt a little rushed. The best part of his arc though was his interactions with Trish. It was more that more time was needed for his arc rather than some sort of male disempowerment. When his character was lucid, it's not like all of his chastisements towards Jessica were unwarrented.
Even though Supergirl has a love triangle (ugh) the characters exist and do things outside it.
Haven't seen Carter yet, but tumblr rustlings indicate Jarvis is brilliant.
