Re: Star Wars shipping question

...we don't know they're cousins, technically, so that one.

well actually I'm not sure because he's a villain with basically no chance of redemption, so.

I guess I'm happy I usually ship canon stuff. I definitely came out of that movie shipping Rey/Finn. *shrug* Finn/Poe is honestly cute, but Rey/Finn hit my buttons way more.

(of course they may not be canon because Jedi Order and all that but we don't really know if that's going to happen, so)

I disagree about Kylo. Of course Kylo is going to be redeemed. Darth Vader was redeemed, after all, and Kylo has more going for him - parents who love him (who are Han and Leia, too). He'll probably die right after he is, but he'll absolutely be redeemed.

I feel like Kylo was far more aware of the choice he was making and its ramifications than Anakin was, to be honest. And I really hope he doesn't get redeemed.

I don't know, man. Star Wars is big on redemption. The universe reminds us time and again that we should forgive, and that no one is truly beyond hope.

If Vader could be redeemed after all he had done, I think Kylo has a good chance.

If it will happen or not remains to be seen, but if it was well executed I could totally buy it.

Same with him sticking to the dark side.

I can absolutely see a redemption arc in Kylo's future, but it's going to take some effort and some genuinely good acting (and possibly some force ghost cameos) to pull off. Then again, I'm also 100% convinced that Smoak is giving that poor dillweed constant hallucinations of Evil Vader, so my perspective may be off.

You know what, I could see that. Maybe not constant, but I wouldn't at all be surprised if Snoke is manipulating Kylo (besides the obvious, lol) in some pretty major ways (including with false information). Leia even says that Snoke has been watching Kylo since a young age, and that he's been seduced, so I do wonder what exactly brought Kylo over to the dark side..

As for ghost Anakin, there's been a lot of talk from fans as to how neat that would be; I agree, it could work! I've heard “there are rumors about bringing Hayden back" but I don't know how true those comments are.

I agree that any redemption arc would have to be handled carefully, but I think Adam Driver has done great with the role so far and I think he can pull it off.

Yeah, but Kylo made his choices knowing the ramifications. I felt Anakin was far less...aware? not sure if that's the right word. But he did what he did initially not believing it was evil and fell into Sidious' trap. Kylo knew full well what he was getting into.

I honestly really hope he doesn't get redeemed. Some people make bad choices. IRL I would love for everyone who has ever done anything villainous to be truly repentant and come around to good, but it's not realistic. I think it would be good to have a story in Star Wars about someone who chooses evil and has to face the consequences.

(This doesn't mean nobody should ever forgive him, of course. But as an overarching theme it would be a different approach.)
