Re: Star Wars shipping question

My fandom life revolves around Star Wars now. lol

But anyway:

I find it funny that some people just assume it is a given that Rey and Kylo are cousins. There's absolutely no evidence that they are related by blood in anyway whatsoever. All we know for sure is that they are both force users. Familiarity does not automatically equal family relation. That's like saying Mace Windu must be Yoda's relative because they sat next to each other and talked a lot on the jedi counsel. There's no hard evidence yet for anything regarding Rey's lineage.

I would give Disney so much credit for supporting a gay character or couple in such a huge franchise, but it's doubtful they'd do that.

As of right now I would assume that Rey x Kylo would be the safest of the two, but even then I'm not sure how that would play out exactly. I'm looking forward to a massive redemption arc though, regardless of any romantic subplots.

Only Mace Windu and Yoda are not constantly implied to be related.
Which movie did you people watch that you can seriously say there was no hint whatsoever about Rey and Kylo being cousins?

No hints....me thinks we saw two different movies. Cause they were blatantly obviously pointing to Rey being Luke's kid.

Agreed. Rey was doing everything except lugging around a blinking neon sign screaming "DAUGHTER OF LUKE MOTHERFUCKIN' SKYWALKER" on her back.

Honestly, the constant hints are why I think she's not Luke's daughter - it feels too obvious to actually be the truth.

Have you...not watched the first three Star Wars movies? There's a thousand hints at her being Luke's daughter.

.She was cast because she looks like Amidala
.In the beginning she has a doll that resembles Luke's pilot attire as well as a pilot helmet similar to his
.JJ said her last name is a spoiler
.The buttload of parallels between them
.Maz's whole speech and the fact Anakin/Luke's lightsaber calls out to her and that she has a stronger pull to it than Ren
.Ren's multiple comments in the novel about basically knowing who she is/Snoke commenting that he has compassion for her because of his 'weakness' (What's his weakness? His family)
