I don't understand this secret at all. Shouldn't Netflix and the like make it easier for you to see shows?

Before streaming services arrived in my country I was resigned to not being able to follow 99% of televisual fandom at all because the TV shows (the mostly American) fandom was into never aired on our TV.

Are you American? I dont know how TV works there, but I was under the impression that you had to buy cable to get the shows before. So now you have to pay Netflix instead of cable, so what's the difference? If anything, that's better. You get to pick and choose now.

Seriously, can someone explain it to me? I don't understand this secret.

I guess there's a time gap for series between airing and apearing on Netflix. Not sure if OP used cable before though.

All depends on where OP lives.

Around here, until just recently Netflix offered only one payment method and that keep many people from getting it.

Regional restrictions are also an issue, depending on what you wanna see.

Netflix usually doesn't get TV series until after the season is over
