Not really? Ed Sheeran is a virtual unknown in the U.S., so there's a whole country full of people who might not know who he is.

His first album hit the Top 5 in US album sales, and his second album hit number 1, as well as being nominated for Album Of The Year at the 2015 Grammys. He also received 6 nominations at this year's MTV Music Video Awards, including one for Video Of The Year.

Perhaps you are living in an alternate dimension and do not realize it.

That's fair enough. I wasn't the anon who expressed shock that someone didn't recognize him. I'm out of the loop about enough pop culture stuff myself that I really can't judge. :)

The other anon's comment, that Sheeran is a "virtual unknown in the U.S." was begging to be contested, though, because it is so utterly inaccurate.
