I've seen it now and it was really good! I didn't realise they were main characters so that was a surprise. The little robot was cute too and the movie was enjoyable even though I haven't seen the others!

If you enjoyed the movie, you would probably enjoy the "first" movie, Star Wars IV: A New Hope, as well. They share a lot of the same themes, although A New Hope doesn't have the super cute Rey/Finn stuff going for it. You do get to see Han, Leia, and Luke meet for the first time, though, and the other movies might help to explain some of what was going on with Kylo Ren.
