Well, it's het, and you know how fandom feels about het these days.

You know it's kind of funny, because I think if the original trilogy came out now, Han/Leia would be SUPER unpopular. Like, actively hated by most people. You might see more Han/Lando, although it's interracial, so that's a point against it. Han/Luke is really not a good pairing from a canon standpoint, but I bet it would be all over the place. You'd probably also see some Luke/Obi-Wan from the people who like age gaps/mentor ships.

Luke/Leia, despite being het, would probably have a surprising amount of followers because it's twincest.

And R2D2/C-3PO would be a juggernaut, I'm sure.

I rewatched all the SW films before seeing The Force Awakens and honestly had the same thought. (Re: Han/Leia not being nearly as popular if the series were released today.)

I think it would have a bigger fanbase than Han/Lando, but definitely not Han/Luke. I do think Han/Luke would be the fandom juggernaut.

would probably have a surprising amount of followers because it's twincest

Could see that too, actually!

R2-D2/C-3PO is the OTP to end all OTP's so it should be.

Han/Luke had a lot of interest but all underground bc Lucas went after that and only that pairing hard, bc asshole.
