LOL SYLAR SECRETS REDUX

52. actually, in the victorian era, 'platonic romances' were very, very, very common. women would write love notes to each other all the time, and kiss and sleep together (non-sexually). it's only pretty recently that western society has gotten all homophobic about this and thinks OMG LESBIANS over ladies who happen to be affectionate with each other.

74. psych has shortcomings??

75. YES

Thank you for that!

Can you recommend anything in those lines? All I want is to read a romance novel where the female characters interact in that particular way.

Hmmmmm unfortunately the only thing I can think of right now is Emily Dickinson's relationship with her sister-in-law; they wrote a lot of letters to each other, which I'm not sure have been published.

Otherwise, Wikipedia! Platonic romance is also called romantic friendship (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romantic_friendship), so I would suggest you start there, or maybe poke around google a bit.

Might also have look checking out stuff about New Women (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Woman), or Boston Marriages (a term for the way Victorian ladies shacked up), and which I think was based on a book by Henry James

74. My thoughts exactly.
