Someone who clicks on a fic rated T isn't going to want to see even those few paragraphs. The M rating is for non-explicit sex.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you there.

I read YA primarily, and several YA books feature non-explicit sexual content, so I don't know what to tell you.

I agree. Plus, there are some YA books that I would consider worthy of an M rating - usually books that are designed to address mature topics in a responsible and constructive manner. Just because they're in the YA section doesn't mean they can't also contain some very mature subject matter, and were those books to be assigned a specific rating I would say the M rating would often be applicable.
