Re: Hair tips thread
(Anonymous) 2016-01-04 12:56 am (UTC)(link)Try sleeping with your hair in a satin scarf (cotton draws out the moisture in your hair). You should check out pineappling videos on youtube (basically, tie the end with a scrunchie and wrap it up in a satin scarf).
Other suggestions:
-leave on conditioner, if you have time, at night, dampen your hair a bit, apply some leave on and either do braids or bantu knots, and wrap in a satin scarf (this usually takes me about 45 min to an hour, especially if I'm de-tangling. So I don;t do it anymore. But I'm sure once you pick up your own rhythm for it, it will take less time).
- mix some conditioner & water, spray your hair with it and do a french braid or some corn rows. Whatever works for you.
Key point is your hair will need to be wet/moisturized with conditioner at some point in between washes. Since it's winter (and cold) where I am, I tend to stick my head under a dryer (if I've braided/bantu knotted my hair) or use a diffuser (good investment). And satin/silk scarves or your hair. Always good.
Good luck!
curlynikki is a good site for some advice, also,
http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types
The page offers different types of curls, so you might find hair that looks like yours, and at the bottom of the selected hair type you'll find "social media gurus", so hopefully you'll find a youtuber whose hair routine might help you out! They also suggest hair products, etc.
Good luck!!
