I know; I'm never sure if it's due to lazy writing or the rotating writing staff. But I hate the magical reset button. I think that with the comics, there's just a strong preference to "have exciting things happen" and also "maintain the status quo". So the only way to have your cake and eat it too is to use the reset button.

Eventually, when you get old enough, you realize you've read the same story regurgitated over and over, and just stop reading and move on. Yes, I'm just speaking for myself. :)
