Fandom sucks when fans decide that not only will they be the change they want to see in the world, they'll harass everyone else into either changing or leaving the fandom. This applies regardless of what change they actually want.

Yes, exactly. It doesn't feel like fandom any more because the fandom has become almost a secondary focus to whatever cause is being championed at any given moment.

What's sad is how much of a sheep people become in fandom. They have to ask 'is it problematic if I...' or 'is it wrong to like...?' They don't formulate their own opinions, they let others police them and roll over like whipped dogs.
