Eh, yeah, but I think the fundamentals -- fic and art and vids are the same. And now we have gifs, which rock.

Most of the fellow old!fan complaining I've seen is about platforms. Yeah, I'm not really heavily into tumblr and could give two shits about Wattpad. But that's okay, I get it. Webrings were terrible, but I admit to missing dedicated recs sites that were actual webpages, and awards. Every gen will add something new, and some of the nostalgia is just that...nostalgia over first fandoms or groups of people who have moved on.
