Where do you meet people?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-07 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
I'm thinking a lot about dating lately. I've never been good at it but I'd like to give it another try. I don't really know where to start. The people who have expressed interest in me (coworkers) haven't been my type. I'm a woman who's primarily interested in other women with similar hobbies (reading, Netflix, low maintenance, that kind of thing) and I live in a smallish city. What would you guys suggest? How do you meet other people?

Have you tried meeting people online? I'm a gay woman too, and I think I'd have trouble meeting other lesbians even if I were outgoing as hell, which I'm not, just because there's no real congregation place for gay people where I am. I've had luck with OKCupid. My last girlfriend was actually from Tinder, and no, it wasn't a hookup - she was the sweetest, most gentle spirit I'd met and she was absolutely beautiful, too, and we took our time before having sex... so the stereotype of Tinder isn't always true.

A family member suggested online dating to me before and your seconding that definitely makes me think again about it. I'm a social larva so maybe online would be more comfortable for me.

Anyway, thank you for your advice!

OkCupid. I'm in a really good relationship now with a woman I met on there. Most of my best relationships have been with women I met online, and OkCupid is the best place to start, in my experience.
