...This secret looks really familiar...

Wasn't there a secret like this a few months back?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-08 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
There was another secret defending Nurse Ratched a few weeks back. IIRC that last troll had a tad more subtlety than this one, though.

1/10

(Anonymous) 2016-01-08 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
More subtlety is needed.

Re: 1/10

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Seriously. It's like when racists try to write how they think black people talk.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. HAHA. Ha.

Thanks for that laugh, OP.

But on a more serious note, just because you like a female character or think she is well written and interesting doesn't mean she was necessarily created with a feminist agenda in mind (and I'm using the word "agenda" in the most neutral sense possible here).

Re: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
Except this is clearly a troll secret trying to paint bitter man-haters as "feminist". F!S par for the course iow.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Miss Havisham would probably use Tumblr and use words like "fuckboy" if she were alive today.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
I agree with this, but I also think she'd be a catfisher who uses Estella's picture as her profile pic.

This comment is as weird and reaching as people who try and pretend Kylo Ren is totally an MRA Gamergater.

Like... go outside.

I know you're a troll, but I like those kind of characters. I wish there were more of them too.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the laugh.

Miss Havisham is a new one.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly, I agree.

TROLLLLLL IN THE DUNGEON!!!

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
...just thought you ought to know.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 12:46 am (UTC)(link)

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 12:58 am (UTC)(link)

Wanting strong willed female characters that go into unlikeable territory, yes please.

It's just your description of them is kind of hilarious.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Well trolly, you're not wrong! Feminists (and other people who appreciate variety) would like to see more of all types of characters in media, including more female characters who are unashamedly awful people.

What amuses me is that your examples are both 50+ years old. Like... this is not feminism's last word in female characters who are terrible people! Try for some more contemporary examples next time! What about Amy Dunne of Gone Girl, for starters?

Hmm.

You should have picked the girl from Hard Candy or a character from Game of Thrones.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-09 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay....

(Anonymous) 2016-01-10 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Not sure if this fits, but I was just wondering today why there no female Sith. How about an empress instead of an emperor? Snoke could totally be a woman, why not?
