I've never heard of this book, but Sefton always reminds me of the Green Knowe books. I've never encountered someone with this name in real life, or even any other book, but if I met a Sefton, I'd probably be suspicious of him until I got to know him.

I don't know if I'd have any thoughts about his religion, or lack thereof, though!

Sefton's Anglo-Norse in origin. It's on the rare side, but you do meet Seftons in the UK.

It originated as a surname, so I would guess there are more people who have it as a surname than as a first name.
