I'm about to start my big bang but now I'm not sure about the beginning. It's going to be a romance with a little side quest thrown in. I initially have the two characters going immediately on the side quest, which lasts a few days, and they fall in love during that time.

But now I wonder if that's going too fast and I should have them interacting more before the side quest. The only possible thing that's relevant to the side quest is to meet the person they're trying to cure (I only mention him) but I feel like this is a huge detour that might slow down the story right out of the gate. I'm just not sure if the romance is too fast though.

Love some thoughts from others.
