I'm being torn apart. I want to be free of this pain.

Err, but that literally has context. He's being torn between the Light and the Dark - forces that actually exist in this world. He loves his family and a part of him wants to go back to the Light, but he also wants the power of the Dark side. And making that choice is painful. It's not him being emo, it's him articulating clearly what's happening to him.

I always knew temper tantrums were so dark side you guys!

He is force sensitive and previously mentioned he still felt the pull to the light side but he wants to stay dark. That line actually makes perfect sense for him.
