It's because fandom is largely male driven, and it's mostly cis dudes who view "chicks with dicks" as a way to explore their "touching the peen" urges without it being "100% gay, maybe only 50%". Keep in mind that this is not how I feel about it, this is stuff my actual trans female friends say. They've run into guys who talk about how they got into "futa" and shit like that, and now they're apparently ready to "try the real thing" (and all the trans woman run awaaaaayyyyyyy).

Check how common the FtM tag is in female dominated fandom spaces versus how common the MtF tag is used. It's very easy to see where FtM guys become a sort of "other (Male)" fantasy in a lot of cis female authors/fanartists minds, while generally it's MtF for the males in fandom.

Utter horseshit.

We're talking here about fic, which is OVERWHELMINGLY female-driven.

At some point, you may have to just admit that most women really like dicks.
