I think this is the first celebrity death that's really hit me hard. I'm not even a fan or anything, but looking back he was a big influence on my sense of aesthetics.

I raised an eyebrow at this comment. If you're not even a fan of him and yet are hit very hard by his death because of his influence on your aesthetics, are there no celebrities which you were a fan of (or which had influenced your aesthetics) who have died?

Side question but do you in any way dress like Bowie and if so, know I am infinitely jealous. I can't pull off his hair, to say nothing of his costumes!

it was a bit poorly phrased. I mostly meant that he was a big influence on what I find attractive in other people, and the type of beauty I like to portray in my art.

Honestly I only know of one celebrity of which I'm a fan that has died (Tony Jay). Two if you count celebrities that I discovered post-mortem (Mitch Hedberg). Tony Jay wasn't sad to me as I'd already come to terms with it before he passed.

Oh, I see! Thanks for the clarification, that makes a lot more sense. Now you'll have me looking twice at the more avant-garde fanart pieces, hahaha.

It's fortunate there's only two! I feel I'm racking up a laundry list of people I'm sad I won't see more work from these days... ;_;

I have been a fan since 1972, and had been listening to a lot of his early work after coming across the BeeB recording of "Cygnet Committee." I feel as though a piece of me has vanished.

I just saw the new a few days ago in our newspaper about his new album and I thought "Oh hey, so he's still making music, that's great!" - and now this. Hit really hard.
"Lazarus" really sounds different now, in a way.
