Oh, ugh, CWs. I forgot about those because I was never into the whole human avatars thing, but they generally seemed to be just another mess that 1) caused more snobbery/elitism (they're not much of an option for most people who aren't artists or have a LOT of real money to spend on the site) and 2) sucked away a whole lot of staff time that could have been better spent on other things (literally any other thing!) than quality-checking user-submitted art.

I never worried too much about what they used people's money for since I didn't pay to play the site (and I did appreciate that it was possible to do that, though more and more stuff seemed to require cash shop credits). Honestly though given the way so many of the problems never got fixed, it wouldn't surprise me at all to find out the money was not going back into site maintenance.
