Their intentions are good. Work, responsibility, dedication, and facing challenges and setbacks is something everyone should learn.

But people confuse those things with "a job" too easily. You can achieve those without taking up a job that someone else needs. Start a hobby. Organize a group. Hell, mod a fandom community or event.

Exactly. When people say the rich should experience a job, "a job" is not what they mean.

Besides, plenty of people with jobs never learn any of the above from them.
