I'm not asking you as a mod. I'm asking you as a guy. What are your thoughts on feminism. Which way do you personally lean?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
If you're asking him on a person level, rather than as a mod, it's his right not to have to answer that publicly.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
It is. and he should say that, but that would kinda be an answer in itself, wouldn't it? But he's not doing that. He's being a sneaky duplicitous baby, just pruning away threads he dislikes because he can without ever answering for it.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
He's said - to the effect - that if you want to talk about it, he's willing to talk about it privately. That's absolutely a satisfactory answer. And it's not "an answer in itself", and he's in no way being a "sneaky duplicitious baby", you ridiculous child.

I am putting forth the idea that case has a bias against feminism. I have asked him to answer it publicly, and he snakes around it by saying "I'll tell you, just not publicly." giving the politicians a run for their money with the appearance of having nothing to hide, while hiding it behind a tactic he acknowledges has worked for 10 years.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you haven't put forth that idea. This is the first time you've said it. You've asked leading questions and you've made hints and imprecations, like the coward you are. But this is the first time that you've come out and said it. And you can hardly expect him to respond to it in those terms when you yourself have been completely unwilling to say it outright.

Re-read my comment.

Hint: "I am putting forward" not "I have"

I wanted to ask him a question and give him a chance to be open rather than throw him an accusation. He chose to be a dick so now "I am" putting forward the accusation.

He's not being a dick, you are. He's the moderator of the community, and he cannot answer your loaded questions publicly without that affecting his capabilities as mod. You're being utterly unreasonable here.

NAYRT

So do FS a service, take one for the team, and make a sock to ask him what his views are. Then you can police his modding duties. Until you do the simple thing he's offered in order to hear what his views are, you have no right to complain that you don't know what they are.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
They won't, because if they did, they'd have to stop complaining about it.

Dude, if you wanted to know, you'd PM him. You don't really want to know - you want to start shit.

It's 100% reasonable for the mod of a comm to decline to discuss political and/or controversial topics on the comm and I feel like the reasons for this should be really obvious.
