Trans people have been around since civilization has winked into existence in one manner or another, but post-op is a medical procedure that has been around for awhile. Vaginoplasty especially. Note that I said "you would be surprised how long post-op trans people have been around for", as in "it's surprising given the medical and social climate surrounding transgenderism that there have been post-op people for as long as there have been".
