(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 05:45 am (UTC)(link)By rebloging you just take the original post and put it in your blog. The original poster is marked as such so there's no confusion over the source and something that had 100 reblogs, all of them using the same tag, doesn't show up 100 on the tags.
By reposting you create a new post which will show up on the tags and the source is just an extra (that many people forget or get it wrong).
And there's the
main can of wormsfact that most people repost stuff while ignoring the wishes of the authors (I have even seen people reposting stuff they could reblog since the author already posted it on tumblr) which is rather iffy.no subject
Posting and blogging just don't mean that, to me. A 'blog' is a space where someone will put up 'my adventures in renovating my kitchen!' or 'my trip across the US'. Kind of self-indulgent meta wherein someone maybe navelgazes a bit and talks about life.
Posting is just...posting. You repost something pretty on Tumblr, you make a post for LJ/DW/Pinterest/whatever. Source/no source never even entered into it. Now, i *do* think that people stripping the source from a post is lame and stupid, and I don't like that, but i never used a different *word* for it.
