Freddie Lounds from NBC Hannibal.

Freddie is gorgeous (and so well dressed! like every single other person in this show dat coat), it's true.

Can't say I 'like' her in the traditional sense (when Will said, "You took a photo of my colostomy bag" I was like, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!!"), but the actress did a wonderful job with the character. I definitely wouldn't have said no to backstory, but because we don't have any I just kind of ran with 'unrelentingly driven and ambitious', and that still works for me. (Almost everyone in the show is a bit...er, unusual or unwell in some sense, so her being so bold and fearless kind of works for the universe.)

I didn't like her at the beginning, but she grew on me and I'm glad she made it through okay. I was never so happy to see her as when she showed up alive in the FBI office, man what a relief. We could have used more backstory on practically everyone, and I believe we'll get that and more in one form or another eventually, but I never had trouble believing her as a character. A lot of reporters irl are crazy as fuck with the risks they take and the ambitions they have, and she's just the tabloid version of that. She wants to be rich and famous, and by god, she's going to do it by skulking around crime scenes and exploiting the shit out of everyone involved. Getting terrorized for real and fake-murdered are just occupational hazards. "How was my funeral?" she says. She's great, hahaha.
