Re: Sharing a bed

I'm the lightest sleeper I've ever met; I also have exceptionally good hearing. Just the sound of someone else's breathing is enough to keep me awake all night, let alone snoring, and a single movement on their part will wake me up (and leave me unable to fall back to sleep). When I was a teen I'd go to sleepovers where we'd always end up crammed onto a couple of beds. I'd lie awake for a couple of hours, then go move to the couch in a different room. Having someone - even someone I loved - keep me awake all night would make me resent them.

Sleep deprivation is an effective form of torture, and destroys your health. So nah, I'm never going to co-sleep. Even with my own bedroom, though, I have to sleep with earplugs and a sound-proofed door or the noises they make getting up to go to the washroom at night or making themselves breakfast wake me up instantly.

That said other people sleep like rocks, so I'm sure the comfort/heat/intimacy outweighs the inconvenience in their cases.
