Yeah, I dunno. It's pretty much a widely believed but thinly researched notion that the Star Wars fandom is super racist (due in part to some idiot trolls/extremist MRAs that put up a fuss about TFA casting- you know, 1% of the viewing audience) and you're trash if you don't fall in line to drink that kool-aid. But for as long as I can remember, Lando has always been a juggernaut fandom darling (he was the first character I could recall by name), and Mace Windu was/is universally adored. I think Finn is flawed in ways that a lot of children can't get behind, or don't yet understand. I know that if I were a ten year old, I might think he was a coward and inept and it'd be difficult to appreciate his inherent bravery and morality until I were old enough to catch the nuance. I personally loved Finn for his flaws- he was very human, and I think it's massively important that young black man aren't inundated with the usual action-hero-black-man stereotypes. It's great to see a black lead that isn't all about rippling muscles, cold stares and violence. But where that is so often the gold standard (aside from ghetto-comic-relief) a lot of audiences are gonna be caught off guard. I mean, he loses his last battle and ends the film unconscious. If child-me had a Finn action figure, I'd hardly know what to do with him. We have yet to see his full potential.

But you know. Probably just epic racism. No way it's simply that he's canonically not as cool as Poe or Rey. Damn you, JJ! You will not win!

Finn isn't really flawed at all-that's why I find him boring.

You really know nothing about MRAs, don't you?
