Okay, now that I can see getting annoyed over. You've given them two choices: cook in peace and clean up after themselves, or deal with you cleaning up as they go. Any time they get irritated with your micromanaging, I'd remind them of the reason why you do it, and that if they agreed to clean up their mess completely (and not half ass the job), you would agree to leave them alone.
