fandomsecrets | (no subject)

Hey guys,

Sorry, but we're going to disallow roleplaying on

fandomsecrets from now on.

I know some of you enjoy it and that some of you roleplay as a response to secrets about your roleplay characters or pairings, but it causes a massive amount of scroll and pushes back actual comments from people back pages, making it harder for all the other secret posters to find responses and stuff (and with like 80 secrets to search through -- you see how this could be a problem).

fandomsecrets was meant to be an OOC community from the start: if one of you wants to start like,

fandomsecretsrp or something, go right ahead, but that kind of stuff really doesn't belong here. It wasn't such a problem before (and all of us mods are also guilty of doing it once or twice, so don't think we're not in the same boat here), but it's gotten kind of bad lately, and we've had multiple complaints.

So, tl;dr version: keep it all OOC, please! Commenting with RP journals is fine if you're too lazy to log out or something, but yeah, OOC.

fsdressingroom to react to OOC secrets IC (as opposed to IC secrets IC, like

ic_secrets). Use it!

That's still technically OOC -- no one's pretending to be characters, or anything.

We mostly mean RP journal comment-spam type roleplay that scrolls the page with 50 one-liner IC comments -- you know what I mean, right?

Not to cause any ruckus or anything, but I don't see the difference between OOC pseudo-RP and IC pseudo-RP in comments. :/ They both take up 50+ comments and you have to scroll past it just the same.

No, but you're right. It's better to cut the problems off before they start, and if you hadn't brought it up, someone else would have. :D

It's just dicking around in the comments. Dicking around should be allowed, otherwise what's the fun of F!S? :| If everything has to be directly related to a secret, then .. fuck that.

I was kinda considering that too -- there's a line between like sarcasm and serious roleplay spam with RP journals. I guess it'll be case-by-case (LOLOL pun not intended augh)?
