I wouldn't put these shows together, at least not anymore. Bones isn't any good anymore. Rizzoli and Isles is still good, and I think even from the beginning it was the superior show.

I'd like to think that if there was a Scarpetta series it would be closer to Rizzoli & Isles than Bones. For me, it's important to get the characters right because the wrong actress could ruin it.

I've never actually read that series. I like that sort of thing on tv, but I don't really read the books. I haven't read the Bones or Rizzoli and Isles books either. But getting characters right is always one of the most important things to me.

I read everything I could get my hands on by Patricia Cornwell & Tess Gerritsen when I was a teenager, never got into Kathy Reichs. 'Rizzoli & Isles' is great, 'Bones' (the earlier seasons) was better than the books and I never understood why Patricia Cornwell's books never got adapted.

I always imagine Kay Scarpetta as Patricia Cornwell. She is one hot-ass lesbian.
