People still hold a grudge. Which honestly I think is stupid. Her original work wasn't plagiarized (except from herself). It wasn't good. At all. But neither are a lot of things. Yet people talk as if she is still plagiarizing.

Matters came to a head in 2001 when Avocado identified extensive sequences of action, description and dialogue from Draco Sinister, Chapter 9 as having been lifted from The Hidden Land, an out-of-print fantasy novel by Pamela Dean. Cassie was subsequently banned from Fanfiction.net for plagiarism.

That is her fanfic. She plagiarized on her fanfic, that is well known. She did not plagiarize her published work as far as I know.

Her original work, though. Her fic plagiarized, and her original books drew from that fic, but none of the plagiarized material was retained in print. Not that it wasn't shitty to plagiarize in the first place, but she did stop.

Oh her original work. Misread, my bad. I would be surprised if it were all original though.

That was kind of my point though. There has been no evidence shown that she plagiarized on her original work and yet people keep assuming she did. Because she's Cassandra Clare so of course she must have. I think that's unfair. Her fics were awful and it was awful that she plagiarized. But that has nothing to do with her original works and I don't think people should keep assuming she's the same.
