Queens of the Stone Age - their newest album just blows. It doesn't hold a candle to their older stuff. And yet, of course it's sold the most copies and gotten the most acclaim.

AYRT

So do a lot of my friends that are hardcore QOTSA fans. I just don't get it. It's depressing, and slow, and Elton John, really? No me gusta.

Of course it's depressing and slow. It was Josh Homme's recovery album. But let's be real here, QOTSA has always been a bit grim; they're a lot like if Acid Bath were from California instead of Louisiana.

I'm not saying I'm surprised it turned out that way; I'm just saying I didn't like the result.

He also lost his drummer in the middle of it, probably because Joey didn't like it either.

GAAAH now after the Paris attacks the next album will be grim city too.
