Anon above who's seen the opening two-parter: it's very ... plasticky. Cast full of pretty people, elven fashions straight out of the Hunger Games, amped-up family dramas, extraneous love interests thrown in, etc. If you've actually read the book, your reaction to a couple of things may be complicated. On the bright side, it's very pretty, and Manu Bennett is hot shit as Allanon (though if you've read the books, what they've done with Allanon story-wise will be one of those complicated things).
