This is something that's kept me from trying out the series. When I was a kid I knew a lot of the pokemon even though I've never played a game, from the anime and the tcg. But now there's so many different ones? And you might get a game and it doesn't have those original pokemon or something?

idk, it's just kind of off-putting. At least with things like Digimon the new Mons are often evolutions of the original ones, so there's some bit of familiarity.
