This doesn't have anything to do with Pokemon, I just picked the picture because it illustrated my point well (i.e. BUT HOW. I DON'T MIND THAT IT HAPPENED I JUST WANT THE PROCESS OF *HOW* THIS HAPPENED)

Actually, I think it's adult shows/movies that do the luck/somehow it works thing the most blatantly. Kids' stuff (episodic TV shows more than movies or books but whatev) tend to have a bit of a reasonable "lesson" about how/why a certain way of doing things will work instead of it just kinda happening.
