Re: Pet Peeves
(Anonymous) 2016-01-21 01:43 am (UTC)(link)Also, we have a regular client who is an elementary school teacher. The other day when someone asked her what she did over the weekend she said "I seen Star Wars" and when one of my coworkers complimented her shoes she said "I've been having them for years". SHE IS A TEACHER.
*bangs head against wall*

Re: Pet Peeves
(Anonymous) 2016-01-21 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)As for the school teacher, it could just be a colloquialism. Do you get on all people who don't talk the way you do? Yes, I know, when you're a teacher, you should sound somewhat intelligent. But unless she's a grammar teacher, there's no requirement that she use perfect grammar at all times, in and out of the classroom. And even if she is, there's got to be a line drawn somewhere.
