Ah, okay. I've seen the novelization of III praised multiple times here at f!s, so I suppose I assumed the others were just as good. Won't be bothering with those, then. (If I ever get around to it, but I should! Again, I felt like Anakin's arc was an interesting one in theory, but the writing and the acting ruined it for me. I didn't have much sympathy for Anakin either, and the thing is...I felt like I should. Yea. I can believe the book helps a lot with that.)

Anakin has some really lovely moments where you just feel for him, he's this relatively young guy being pulled in so many directions by things he can't even understand (and there's some interesting Jedi hubris going on where I find myself thinking "well, maybe if you assholes took two minutes to talk to him he wouldn't end up slaughtering your younglings.")
