Make them both dicks and I'll be happy, I'm just tired of people screeching about how James changed. Cool, he was still an absolute dick who never once apologized to his victim (and there were probably more) and instead seems to have thought there was nothing wrong with it, and even provoked Vernon and Petunia at times while with Lily. So Lily didn't fucking stop it.

it doesn't seem like he purposely did it, especially since he DID apologize to Vernon later (or at least tried to, only Vernon wouldn't give him the time of day -- and isn't that what people always ask for, proof that James wanted to apologize for things he did wrong? and tbh he was the least wrong in the situation with Vernon)
